Five services, one goal: when someone near you searches for what you do, your name is on the screen and your phone number is easy to tap. We work with businesses in the Louisville area, and the five overlap, so here's how each one works and who it suits. Not sure where you fit? Skip to which service first, or call.

Local SEO

When someone searches for a business like yours, Google shows a short list on a map. Local SEO is the work of getting you onto that list and onto the pages under it. That means your website pages, your directory listings, and a name, address and phone that match everywhere. We start with how you show up today for your main service in your own town.

What it covers

Your website pages come first. A page for each main service, written in plain words, saying what you do and where. Not the same paragraph pasted ten times with a different town name. Google reads that for what it is.

Then your directory listings. These are the other places your business shows up: map apps, review sites, trade directories. Each one should say the same name, address and phone, spelled the same way. An old suite number on one site and a dead phone number on another makes Google less sure which business is the real one.

Who it fits

Any business that lives on customers within a short drive. Local SEO takes time, and it's slow going if you need ten calls by Friday. Be wary of anyone who says otherwise. If the phone has to ring sooner than that, ask about lead generation below.

What to expect

Cleanup comes first, and it's the fastest part. Wrong or mismatched details get fixed, thin pages get rewritten, and Google needs time to notice. After that, it's gradual. A competitive search in a big trade moves slowly, and anyone promising a date is guessing. We'd rather tell you that now.

Google Business Profile optimization

Your Google Business Profile is the listing on the map. It's often the first thing a customer sees. We check the categories, services, hours, photos and posts, and fix what's wrong or missing.

What it covers

  • Categories. One main category, picked on purpose, plus extras that match what you really do. “HVAC contractor” says more than a generic label.
  • Services. The list of what you offer, in the words a customer would use.
  • Hours. Real ones, including holidays. A listing that says closed when you're open loses the call.
  • Photos. Your own work, your own truck, your own storefront beat anything pulled from a photo library.
  • Posts. Short updates that show the listing is alive.

Who it fits

Anyone who's never touched their listing, anyone who moved or changed phone numbers, and anyone with a duplicate listing sitting around. It's also the quickest place to find out what's wrong. Search your own business name on a phone and look.

What it can't do

A tidy listing won't make up for a business nobody has heard of, and it can't move your shop closer to the searcher. Distance counts, and it's the one thing nobody can edit. It also can't replace answering the phone.

Local website design

A local business website has one job. Someone lands on it with a problem. In a few seconds they should see that you do that work, in their town, and how to call. We build plain sites that work on a phone, with a page for each service and a call button within reach.

What it covers

The phone number goes at the top where a thumb can reach it. The first screen says what you do and where. After that, one page per service, because a page about everything ranks for nothing in particular.

Plain beats fancy here. A pop-up or a slideshow that hides your number behind an arrow costs you calls. If you've got pictures of your own jobs, they'll do more than a photo of strangers shaking hands.

Who it fits

Businesses with no site, a site that's hard to use on a phone, or a site that never says which town you work in. If your site's fine and your listing is the weak spot, we'll tell you to leave the site alone.

What to have ready

A list of the services you actually want calls for, the area you cover, and any photos of your own work. The site can only be as specific as what you give it. “We do everything” makes a weak page.

Lead generation for contractors

Some owners don't want to hear about rankings. They want the phone to ring. If you're a contractor, such as a roofer or an HVAC company, call and we'll go over how lead generation works for your trade and whether it fits your town.

Questions to ask anyone who sells leads

Including us. The word “lead” covers a lot of ground, and some of it isn't worth having.

  • What counts as a lead? A real customer asking for work you do, or any call that hit the line?
  • Is the lead only yours, or does it go to others at the same time?
  • Is it inside the area you actually serve?
  • What happens when a lead turns out to be wrong?
  • Do you get to see where the lead came from?

Who it fits

Roofers, HVAC companies and other contractors who'd rather answer calls than study search results. Your busiest weeks follow the weather. A heat wave or a hail storm brings a flood of searches, and whoever picks up first often gets the job. Whether this suits your town is a call, not a web page.

Reviews

People read reviews before they call. We help you ask real customers for reviews and reply to the ones you get. We don't buy reviews and we don't pick who gets asked.

What it covers

Asking is a timing thing. The best moment is right after the job, while the customer's happy and the work is still in front of them. A text with a direct link to your Google review page is easier than “search for us and leave a review.”

Replying is for the person reading, not the person who wrote it. Thank the good ones by name. Answer the bad ones calmly, once, without arguing and without private details. A prospect skims your worst review and your reply to it before they dial.

Two things are off the table. Google doesn't allow fake reviews, and it doesn't allow asking only your happiest customers. We do neither.

Who it fits

A business with plenty of happy customers and a thin review count. Often it's a habit problem, not a quality problem.

What it won't do

It won't hide a bad month. If a few customers had a real problem, the reviews will say so, and the best answer is to fix the problem and reply like a person. A few honest complaints next to a lot of good ones read as real.

How we work

  1. Look it up like a customer. Your main service, your town, a phone.
  2. See where you show up. On the map, on the pages under it, and in the directories.
  3. Check the basics. Categories, services, hours, photos, posts, and whether your name, address and phone match everywhere.
  4. Put the fixes in order. We tell you what we'd work on first.
  5. You decide. If it's not a fit, you keep what we found.

It all begins with a conversation. You can contact us by phone or email, and the first call is you describing the business.

Which service first?

A rough guide, with some opinion mixed in.

  • Not on the map at all? Start with the Google Business Profile. It's quicker than a new website and shows up where customers look first.
  • On the map but nobody calls? Look at the reviews and the website. People check both before dialing.
  • Website old or hard to use on a phone? Fix the site, but only after the listing is right. Sending people to a bad page doesn't help.
  • Contractor who wants calls, not rankings? Ask about lead generation.
  • No idea? That's the usual answer. Call and we'll sort it out together.

How pricing works

We talk through pricing on the call. No prices are posted here. We don't promise rankings either.

Whoever you hire, ask these before you agree to anything:

  • What exactly will be done, in plain words?
  • Who owns the website and Google profile afterward?
  • How do I leave if it's not working?

Ask us the same three. A straight answer on the phone beats a page of fine print.

Local SEO services questions, answered

What's included in your local SEO services?

Work on your website pages, your directory listings, and a name, address and phone that match everywhere. We start by looking at how you show up today for your main service in your own town, then tell you what to fix first.

Is Google Business Profile optimization enough on its own?

Sometimes. If your listing was wrong or half empty, fixing it can make a visible difference. If your website is thin or your reviews are old, the listing can only carry so much. That's why we look at all of it before suggesting where to start.

Do you build websites for local businesses?

Yes. We build plain sites that work on a phone, with a page for each service and a call button within reach.

What does lead generation for contractors mean?

It's about getting the phone to ring with real customers in your area. How it works depends on your trade and your town, so we go over it on a call and say whether it fits.

Can you delete a bad review?

Not on our say-so. Google decides what comes down, and it only removes reviews that break its rules. What we can do is help you reply calmly and ask more real customers for their opinion.

Will you buy reviews for me?

No. We don't buy reviews and we don't pick who gets asked for one.

I work out of my truck and don't have a shop. Can I still be on the map?

Often, yes. Google lets businesses that travel to customers hide their address and list the areas they serve. Call and tell us how you work, and we'll go over how it would look.

How will I know the work is helping?

Look at the calls. Your Google Business Profile shows calls, direction requests and how people found you, and you can see for yourself whether the phone is ringing more. We'll talk about what to watch on the call.
